... where we will plan our trip from Denver to Japan in 2011!

Introduction

These webpages are for everyone involved in our adventure to connect: find out about each other, follow the progress as we put together the itinerary, let your needs be known.

 

In the box at left are links for you to find out about who else is interested in taking this trip, some information about each of the cities we plan to visit, people who are helping this happen (travel agents, contacts in our destination cities and so on), and events going on that you might be interested in because they provide opportunities to prepare and learn for this journey. Also, we will provide details on our itinerary and prices as they become available.

 

We are planning to visit five or more World Heritage Sites in Japan on this trip.

 

Our trip is affiliated with Denver Sister Cities International (DSCI) and the Denver Takayama Sister City Committee (DTSCC). This means: to participate in the trip you must join DSCI. You can do that online at the DSCI website (scroll down to the bottom where it says "Click here to submit a secure online membership form"). Or, if you prefer, we can email you an electronic form, or snail mail you a hardcopy form, or provide you with a form at one of our regular meetings.

 

Discussions

We think it's important to have a place where the group can hold discussions and post questions and answers. The primary tools for this today are Wikis and blogs. But these usually require you to establish a userid and password, which seems unneccessary to me.

As an alternative, I decided to simply go with web pages to hold discussions. If you follow the link in the box on the left to Discussions, you will get a simple explanation of how this can be used to answer questions you have and to share your own insights and experience with the group. Please feel free to contribute to any ongoing discussion or to start your own.

  • 24 May - We are offically a Sister Cities trip.
  • 20-21 May - Major update. Added "How To Use This Web Site", a Check list, information on the PASMO card, information on people and contacts supporting the trip, and I updated information on prices and events.

  • 19 April - Updated page with radiation discussion (see below) to include a pointer to a site where the readings are updated every day.
