Some things to do in Tokyo

Our time is short in Tokyo this trip, so we have to be selective in how we allocate our time. Here's some suggestions ...

• Go [window] Shopping on the famous Ginza
• Visit the digital art exhibit mounted by teamLab in the Odaiba area
• Shop for electronics in Akihabara
• Stroll in the Hama-rikyu Gardens
• Float down the Sumida River on the Sumida River Line
• Visit Asakusa - old town
• Take a half-day trip to Kamakura - ancient capital
• Visit the imperial palace (actually not much to see: we won't be able to go inside, but can wander around the area)
• Watch the art of kabuki at the recently restored Kabuki-za theatre
• Take the elevator up the Tokyo Tower or the newer
  Tokyo SkyTree or the free
  observation decks of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government building
• Visit Harajuku to see the youth counter culture
