• Previous visits to Japan:
  • Lived in Japan 1971-1973; taught English for Matsushita Electric and took Japanese language and arts classes.

• Japanese language ability:
  • Conversation: I spoke quite well 40 years ago, but I don't remember much now.
  • Reading and writing: I did not study these subjects.

• Other Connections with Japan
  • My mom was very involved with the art of Ikebana flower arranging when I was growing up

What I hope to get from this adventure:

I want to reconnect with Japan's beauty and eat authentic meals. I'm also interested in seeing what has changed in the last 40 years.
