Hiroshima is moving beyond its past as the first city to be A-bombed, and has become a modern, vibrant city.

Hotel:

Here is a list of suggested sites to see / things to do in Hiroshima. Feel free to suggest additions. When we are in Hiroshima, this will be our first source in deciding what we'd like to do next. Items marked with an asterisk (*) are among the World Heritage Sites in Japan.

• * Visit the Peace Memorial Park and Museum
• Shop in the enormous underground mall called Shareo or above ground on Hondori Street
• * Take the train and ferry to Miyajima - an island retreat among the most pleasant spots in Japan. Also shown here and here
